For the last several years I have taken classes on Sleep Apnea. Then my Mom was diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea so things got personal. I put all my focus into learning everything I could about sleep apnea. I sought out experts in the fields of sleep medicine. Here is my Home Sleep Test results.
History: Michael Nugent was referred by Michael Nugent DDS to further evaluate symptoms associated with sleep disordered breathing. History includes the following co-morbidities: snoring and daytime fatigue.
Procedure: A home sleep study (95806) was performed. The following was recoreded: Apnea/hypopnea index (AHI), Respiratory disturbance index (RDI), airflow (nasal pressure), snoring, respiratory effort, pulse rate, Oxygen saturation.
Observations:
- Oxyhemoglobin Saturation (SP02) – average SP02 was 94%
- Minimum SP02 desaturation associated with disordered breathing events was 85%
- Snoring events – 8
- Apnea hypopnea index (AHI) – within normal limits at 0.7 events per hour
- Respiratory disturbances index (RDI/RI) – withing normal limits of 3.3 events per hour
Diagnosis:
- Primary snoring
Recommendations:
A consultation by a dental professional to evaluate the use of Oral Appliance Therapy for the treatment of primary snoring
